“See these hands, Walton?”
“Yes, Dr. Francis.”
“They are the biggest source of contamination for the patients. Sometimes healers and sometimes….cold-blooded killers.”
This said he switched off the ventilator.

Well, Gandhi always distrusted Doctors (effect of submission of a term paper on Gandhi 😉 ) How are u? Long time, no post! Exams over?!! Take care 🙂 Have fun 🙂
No 😦 not yet. and I am definitely not having fun these days… hopefully after 22oct….
This is awesome! To be able to put in a whole story in a few sentences is something that I admire a lot in writers. Good job!
Thank you for the kind words!
Wow! I didn’t see that ending coming. We have given doctors a lot of power over life and death, but ultimately, it’s up to God 🙂
Thanks for reading.
My God!!! Did he actually kill the patient?
I had to read this twice for it to sink in…. (*shivers*)
There are some who believe in euthanasia and some who believe in playing god, aren’t there!
chillingly brutal..excellent work!
Thank you so much! you are among the few people i know who would always read it, no matter how pathetic they are.
Short but Very Impressive… but I disagree about the cold blooded Killer….. because God can never be a cold blooded killer!
Exactly! But a doctor who ‘thinks’ he is god just because he can sentence anyone to death is a cold-blooded killer.
Agreed!
Wow. This is brutal, cold, truthful and even a bit hopeful all at once. Excellent.
Thanks there. I am amazed that everybody read it with a completely different perspective.
Oh, WOW!!!
That is brilliant! This certainly succinctly sums up The God Complex that doctors are always said to have. This guy takes it a little far, though.
I loved it!
Yes, he did. Thanks for reading.
Ooh, nice – I didn’t expect that last line. Nicely done, and nice to see you here again!
Yes, after a small break. 🙂 Nice to know that my absence was felt 🙂
amazing! you’ve captured it so perfectly in your words 🙂 masha Allah
Jazakillah for reading. 🙂
BarikAllah 🙂
This is profound and disturbing. While we presume this is done for the humanity of the patient, it must be a terrible thing for the doctor. This was very well done.
I came up with it while studying microbiology. It was all thanks to the bacteria!
